RHYVRB: Club Culture Inspired Design Research

Role:

Research, Concept, Art Direction,
Visual Design, Motion Design

Why Relevant?

This project began with a simple question: What if design moved to a beat? I explored rhythm as a hidden language—something that exists not just in music, but in the layers of shapes, forms, and colors.

At its core, it’s about connection. By treating design elements like audio tracks (stacking, mixing, remixing them), I wanted to create immersive, multi-sensory experiences that shake up how we approach creativity. Through a workshop of treating visual graphical elements as a beat-making essense, receiving positive feedback. My work is rooted in two worlds: underground club culture and rhythmanalysis.

Core Concept

RHYVRB examines how rhythm builds perception, movement, and collective energy in order to translate multisensory experience into an activist design movement, reshaping graphic design through collective expression.

Foundation

As part of the research, I conducted interviews with designers who have musical background, such as the author of Clubbed' the organizer of an LA underground party and creative director, and a brand designer who also attended underground raves. These sessions provided singular access to the intersection of rhythm, design, and cultural movements, the foundation of the project.
